Participant Information

Rain or shine, the parade is here!

ARRIVAL: Please note your specific arrival time, if everyone arrives as assigned, reaching your spot will be easy and traffic should flow smoothly. It is typical for floats to make final decorations at this time.

WAIVERS: Participants should print and bring signed waiver to turn in to one of our volunteers at your spot in the line-up (we will have paper copies available, too).  The waiver MUST be signed by each person in your group. Volunteers will come to you to collect waivers and to give you any information needed. 

PARADE ROUTE: We line up on Hill Avenue. Arrive from James White Parkway at Hill Ave. You will drive in front of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and line up on Hill to take a right onto Gay Street. The parade ends at the corner of Gay St and West Magnolia (past Depot St before you go under the interstate). This would be a good spot to park a shuttle vehicle, if necessary. 

STEP-OFF: Step off time is 12:55PM. 

NO ALCOHOL DURING THE PARADE: Knoxville Police Department has asked that there be no drinking of alcoholic beverages during the parade or on the floats. 

PACING: Keep a good distance between yourself and the next unit. Do not let the parade slow down or speed up.  We do not want big gaps between floats. Go very slowly even after you pass the announcer stand. There will be volunteers along the route to help with pacing. 

RESTROOMS: Porta Potties are available at the Blount Mansion and at end of Hill Avenue bridge.
